And the answer would be,
No.

I have checked on this with ‘my people’.
Briefly, typical muzzle velocity will be 1100 ft/sec measured 3 ft. from the end of the muzzle. It can vary quite a bit depending on the type of load etc. etc.
And of course the shot will quickly slow down in flight.
Bottom line however, I have been assured that the bird will be overtaken unless it was out of range to begin with.
We could start a debate at this point, but I’ll leave that up to your discretion.

Duct-taped would have been more fun than how I’ve been spending my time.
I decided to export my Google Contact list just in case they go belly up or forget who I am. It turns out that because they don’t have ‘First Name’ and ‘Last Name’ fields that they parse the name and decide anything before the first space is ‘First Name’ and then rest is ‘Last Name’. This is less than ideal. So I had to go thru all the names and_add_underscores to fool it into getting the parsing right.
Besides nobody reads blogs on the weekends unless they are stuck in a blizzard and can’t get to the slopes.
Fear not, tomorrow’s blog is all tee’d up and ready to go first thing Monday am. And it’s a real keeper, don’t miss it!
