Let’s send Jamie Dimon to Syria. No, not because we want to punish him, but because he’s the only guy I know willing to call a spade a spade. He could give us a status update on Kofi Annan’s peace plan for Syria.
Because what I admire about Dimon, and pointed out in a recent post, is that he was willing to say that you don’t need to point fingers and wonder whether the problem is the plan (blame the planners), or implementation (blame the implementers), you just say it’s all crap and you can blame me.
From today’s Washington Post we can see what Mr. Annan has to say:
… U.N. special envoy Kofi Annan acknowledged that his peace plan was not working …
Some say the plan may be dead. Is the problem the plan, or the problem is implementation?” Annan said as he stood next to [Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham] Clinton. “If it’s implementation, how do we get action on that? And if it’s the plan, what other options do we have?
While we wait for Mr. Dimon to report, I’ll give you my take; it’s all rubbish.
Time to re-set.
