How About A Little Bit Of Respect For The USPS

It’s time to give our much maligned United States Postal Service some respect. Yes. Really.

If you haven’t noticed, sending a package thru the Post Office is cheaper and faster than using either UPS or FedEx. Yes. Really.

The problem, historically, was that once you turned your package over to USPS, it got disappeared into an Alice-In-Wonderland black hole. Sure you got a tracking number, but that was about as useful as the customer service number for AT&T.

But, as Bob Dylan said, “times are strange”. Anything is now possible.

I’ve got a package on its way to me, and when I checked the tracking number at usps.com, here’s what came up.

I was gob-smacked. It looks remarkably like a UPS or FedEx status update.

USPS Tracking

Wow! Actual Tracking Status.

It’s really tempting to add something snarky at this point, but instead I am stepping back from the keyboard.

Good work USPS, keep on tracking!
