Every once in a while I get surprised. Usually when you get something for free, it’s worth what you’ve paid. However in this case Amazon sent a link for a free Kindle book, and a few days ago I was looking for a ‘light’ read so figured ‘what the heck’. Although I’m not ordinarily a fan of thrillers, ‘Persuader‘ by Lee Child has got me hooked.
Jack Reacher, the taciturn ex-MP whose adventures in Lee Child’s six previous solidly plotted, expertly paced thrillers have won a devoted fan base, returns in this explosive tale of an undercover operation set up by the FBI to rescue an agent investigating Zachary Beck, a reclusive tycoon believed to be a kingpin in the drug trade. The novel begins with a bang as Reacher rescues Beck’s son from a staged kidnapping…
And here’s your link to the Kindle version, note that the price is $0.00!
Update. I finished Persuader and it was a great read right to the end. And remember I am not a big fan of thrillers. Definitely you get your money’s worth, and I will even purchase at least another of his other books.
Another update. I just noticed that Persuader is no longer being offered for free. The Kindle version is now back to $6.39. Sorry for those of you who missed the window…
